Set up Site and Homepage Navigation Bars...

Aliquant allows you to choose a navigation bar design for your home page and for the rest of the site. From the administration section choose Site Setup Values / Homepage Navbar Setup or Site Navbar Setup. The Homepage Navbar Setup wizard will create the navigation bars for your homepage and the Site Navbar Setup wizard will create the navigation bars for the rest of your site.

There are a few things you need to know about your navigation bar setup before you begin.

• Membership Registration Option: Adding this option to the navigation bar does nothing if you have not chosen the Membership Registration Option for your website.
• Content Sections and Section Page links do NOT show in the navigation bar unless you have added and published the appropriate content.
• News Navigation and Site Links sections do not show on the navbar unless there is appropriate content entered in the database.

To add a navigation bar component to your navigation bar check the Show On Navbar checkbox beside the component... choose which navigation bar the component will be added to (Left Navbar or Right Navbar) and choose a position from the appropriate select box.

Position relates to where the component will show on the specific navigation bar. The lower the number the closer to the top of the navigation bar the component will be. Position one (1) places the component at the top of the navigation bar. DO NOT ADD MORE THAN ONE COMPONENT TO ONE POSITION ON THE SAME NAVIGATION BAR. If you do this the wizard will disregard all but the last component listed for that position.

The illustration below shows what your choices might look like.

When you have finished making your choices choose the Save Changes button to run the wizard. The program will dynamically create your navigation bars.

• Home Button: This adds a link "Home" that returns the user to the home page of your site.
• Content Navigation: This adds links to all of your site content sections, content pages and section links.
• News Navigation: This adds appropriate links to all News items entered in your website.
• Site Links: This adds all of your custom site links.
• Today's Date: Adds today's date in the format (mm/dd/yy).
• Navbar Quick Search: Adds a keyword search section to the navigation bar.
• Membership Registration: Adds all necessary links to allow users to register as members and update their membership records.
• User Navigation 1: Adds a custom file create by you. (See Creating Custom Navbar Files)
• User Navigation 2: Adds a custom file created by you. (See Creating Custom Navbar Files)
• Terms and Conditions Link: Adds a link to your Terms and Conditions information.
• Privacy Info Link: Adds a link to your privacy information.

You may change the layout of your navigation bars at any time you wish. Just return to the wizard, make your changes and click the save button. The wizard remembers what your last choices were and fills in all of the appropriate selections when you return to the wizard.
