Managing Events in Your Site... Events are organized in your site by category and by event date. Before you can add a new event you must have a category to apply the event to. From the administration section choose Events Management / Event Category Management.
This page lists all event categories available in your site. If there is more than one category of events AND there are events listed for all the category the site user will be able to list ONLY the events from a single category. Categories with no events will not be an option for the user. To add a category enter the text you want the user to see as the name of the category and click Save New Category. To change an existing category, make your changes and click the Save Changes button to the right of the category. Please note that you can change only one category at a time. Add New Event... From the administration section choose Events Management / Events Management. The resulting page will list all events currently listed in your site. While the system will allow any number of events and will provide the user the ability to view past events, we recommend that you keep your events up to date by deleting old events. At the top of the page is a keyword search. Enter a word or phrase in the event you are looking for and click the search button.
From this page choose the Add New Event link.
When you click the Save Record button the event record will stay on the page but you will have an additional form below the event record. This is for adding event dates.
If an event date range runs over the end of a year (December 1, 2004
to January 5, 2006) you must enter two date ranges... One with the start
date with the end date being the last day of the year... the second date
range will have a start date of January 1 with an end date of the last
date of the event. You will need to add a link to your events page as a site section link, a site link or with link code in your site header or user navigation files. The file name for the events calendar is... calendar.asp in the root of your site. If you are using a section link or a site link the URL will be "/calendar.asp" without the quotes.
