Setup Opt-In Email Groups...

The Opt-In Email component is an optional component for your Aliquant website. If you choose to add this component to your site it allows you to let users sign up for custom email groups and to send customized bulk emails through your Aliquant administration section. 

The component is a double opt-in system. Double opt-in means that no one can add someone else's email address to your opt-in system. When a user registers for your opt-in email program they are sent a confirmation email. This email contains a link back to your site and instructions on how the user can finalize their registration. If the user does NOT click the link within 10 days their registration is automatically deleted from your database. The system also tracks the time of the registration and confirmation as well as the IP address used by the user at registration and at confirmation.

To add email groups to your site choose Opt-in Email Management / Manage Email Groups.

This list contains all groups currently entered in your website. A check above the group name indicates that the group is currently active. A X above the group name indicates that the group is not active.

To add a new Email Group choose the Add New Email Group link on this page.

Mail Group ID: (Required, maximum 20 characters) Mail group ID must contain only upper and lower case letters and numbers with no special characters or spaces.
Active: This checkbox must be checked for the group to show on the users Email Group Choice list.
Group Name: (Required, maximum 50 characters) A short user-friendly name for this email group.
Short Description: (Required, maximum 300 words) This description is used on the user email group choice list to help them determine whether they want to join the group list.

Registration Email Text... 

Every new opt-in email registration receives a confirmation email. The information sent in that email can be customized by choosing Opt-In Email Management / Opting Email Text from the administration section. 

Enter the text you want to include in the confirmation email in the editor and choose Save Changes. This is a text only file. Do NOT use HTML code in this editor.

Locate a Registered Email Group User...

Every email sent using the Aliquant opt-in email system includes a link to allow the user to opt-out of the email group. However, you will occasionally receive a phone call or email requesting that a user be removed from your opt-in system or wants the email address in the system changed. When this happens choose Opt-in Email Management / Find Email User from the administration section.

Enter the first, last or both names or the email address and choose Search. The resulting page will list all email registrations that meet you search criteria.

Email Subscriber Information (Left Side): Displays the primary information about the subscriber
Name: The members name
Email Link: Email address (Link)
Register Date: IP: Shows the date the user originally registered and the IP addres of the subscriber's internet connection.
Confirmation Date: IP: Shows the date the user returned to the site to confirm their subscription and the IP addres of the subscriber's internet connection.
Administration Actions (Right Side):
Review Registration Record: Allows you to review and edit the name and email address of the record.
De-Activate / Activate: Allows you to De-activate or activate a membership with a single click. PLEASE NOTE: De-activating a user does not remove them from the database but no emails will be sent. You should only use de-activate while researching a particular problem.
Delete: This action completely deletes the email subscriber from ALL email groups.
