Uploading
and Managing Files...
There are two ways to upload images and files to your site.
FTP... You can use any FTP program to upload files to your
website. When you use an FTP program you MUST be aware that most of
the files on your site are actually small programs that merge the site
content you enter with the layout of the site to dynamically create
the pages requested by the user. CHANGING, OVERWRITING OR DELETING ANY
OF THESE FILES WILL CAUSE YOUR SITE TO MALFUNCTION.
We suggest that you save your images in the UserImages
folder and all other files in the UserFiles folder.
Aliquant's User File Management... From the administration
navigation bar choose the User File Management link.
Note: When you visit this page you may be required to enter an
additional login and password. See Logging
into the administration site.

Your User File Management administration page has
three sections.
Top Section - File Upload: This is your file
upload section. You can upload three files at a time. To use the
upload, click the Browse button beside one file field. This
will pop up a file explorer showing the drives and folders on your
computer. Find the file you want to upload and double click the file
name. The file location will be automatically entered in the file
field.
After choosing all files you wish to upload (maximum
three files at a time) click the Upload File(s) button. The
files will be immediately uploaded to your web server. Image files
(.gif and .jpg) are uploaded to the UserImages folder. All other files
are uploaded to the UserFiles folder. If the files are large this
process may take a while depending upon your connection speed.
Left Lower Section - Image Management: This
section displays a list of all of the files in your site's UserImages
folder. To delete one or more files, check the box to the left of the
file name and choose the Delete Checked Images button below the
list. The files are deleted immediately. Please note that the
program does not ask for verification that you want the images
deleted...This action cannot be undone.
Right Lower Section - File Management:
This section displays a list of all of the files in your site's
UserFiles folder. To delete one or more files, check the box to the
left of the file name and choose the Delete Checked Images
button below the list. The files are deleted immediately. Please
note that the program does not ask for verification that you want the
images deleted...This action cannot be undone.
PLEASE NOTE: The HTTP Protocol sometimes does
not play well with file names created with spaces and special
characters. Since HTTP uses a lot of special characters to denote
special functions it uses codes ( for a space)
instead of spaces and special characters. While this does not always
result in an error it will in some cases. As a general rule... do
NOT upload files with spaces or special characters (anything except
letters and numbers) in file names.
